ΜΠΛΑΚΜΠΕΡΝ: ΟΔΗΓΙΕΣ ΠΡΟΣ ΤΟΥΣ ΦΙΛΑΘΛΟΥΣ ΤΗΣ

LARISSA FC V BLACKBURN ROVERS

UEFA Cup 1st Round

Thursday 20th September 2007, Kick Off 6:00pm (Local time)

Panthessaliko Stadium, Volos

Rovers face Greek side, Larissa in the 1st round of the 2007/08 UEFA Cup.

Τhe match will be played at the Panthessaliko Stadium in Volos on Thursday 20th September, kick-off 6.00pm local time.

Rovers continue their European quest – this time to the (hopefully) sunny climes of Greece. For the first time Rovers head to the Mediterranean and travelling fans can look forward to warm weather, a beach and a seafront with plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants.

The match has been relocated from Larissa to the coast and the city of Volos – a lively regional centre on the Aegean at the head of Pagasitikos Bay and surrounde by mountains including the impressive Mount Pelion.

This was the area where Jason built and set sail in the Argo and there are many sites reflecting the importance of the area through history. Many artefacts are displayed in the Volos Archaeological Museum.

The impressive, modern stadium is on the outskirts of the city and was purpose-built for the 2004 Olympic Games.
